Who exactly are the Three Kings? The Bible speaks of wise men rather than monarchs, and historians say they were probably magicians or astronomers; they have stood for the Three Ages of Man and for the different human temperaments and thus have acquired a universal character, standing for all humanity. In Gossaert's magnificent 'Adoration of the Kings', dating from the early 1500s, the bearded King Melchior, represents Asia. The three wise men, which came from the East, followed a mysterious wandering star and knelt at the crib in Bethlehem, bearing precious gifts for the infant Christ.

Melchior (a.k.a. "the white one") came from either Asia or Arabia. He is usually portrayed as an old man. His gift of gold is believed to have financed the Holy Family's flight into Egypt. It represents the immortality, purity, divinity, and kingship of Jesus Christ and His titles of the Light of the World, the Morning Star, and the Day spring. Gold was used in both the temple worship and in the worship of idols. The wise men received spiritual wealth and the gift of Charity for their gold.

Our biblical costumes will allow your child to dress as a King in your next Christmas Pageant or Christmas Play as one of (Three) Magi, (Three) Wise Men, (Three) Kings, or Kings from the East, in this biblical costume.  Who will you be? Caspar, Melchior or Balthazar?

This Children’s Melchior Costume comes with a satinique and metallic brocade headpiece with full-length Biblical robe with attached belt and cord when bearing your precious gifts.

We understand the difficulty in obtaining the precise measurements of your children (we all have kids of our own). As a good rule of thumb, the age of your child is normally the size that your child wears. However, only you know your child, so please take note as to whether your child is large, small or average for his age, and choose his size accordingly.

  1. With his arms at his sides, measure around the fullest part of your child's chest.
  2. Measure your child's waist around his natural waistline, keeping the tape comfortably loose.

Please be sure to order belts two inches longer than your child's pant waist size.

*Note: Our Products come from a variety of sources and manufacturer’s sizing standards may vary. A comments box is provided when you place your order and we definitely welcome any additional sizing information and measurements to help us get it right the first time!
