Christmas is still the most magical time of the year! Santa has many names, Kris Kringle, St. Nicholas or even Weinachtsmann (Christmas Man), and is known all over the world. During the Middle Ages the Dutch referred to the Devil as Black Peter. It was said that St. Nicholas put the devil in chains and made him his slave. St. Nicholas would have Black Peter drop candy and gifts down into the children's shoes on St. Nicholas eve, which was a few weeks before Christmas. In Germany on Dec. 6th Saints Feast Day, children would leave their shoes on the doorstep and Weinachtsmann would fill them with toys and gifts. During the Civil War in America both the north and the south used Santa to pass out propaganda material. After all, who would want to shoot people in Santa Suits?
This full-length custom made Santa is fully lined from his cap to the floor. We have chosen luxurious fabrics to bring this St. Nick to life. His floor length robe is made with plush woven fabric lined in rich satin and trimmed with a heavy pile faux fur. Costume includes an extra long drapery cord with attached tassels and of course the famous toy bag in which to hold the coal for the naughty kids and toys for all the good little boys and girls. "I still believe in Santa Claus".
